Bible Calendar with Nude Erotic Photos

Philippians 1:15-18 KJV (15) Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will: (16) The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds: (17) But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel. (18) What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.

Philippians 4:9 KJV Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

At times it is a bit difficult to be an imitator of Paul as he was of Christ (1st Cor. 11.1).

Erotic moments from Bible... Mon Dec 5, 2:48 PM ET

A German Protestant youth group has put together a 2006 calendar with 12 staged photos depicting erotic scenes from the Bible, including a bare-breasted Delilah cutting Samson's hair and a nude Eve offering an apple.

"There's a whole range of biblical scriptures simply bursting with eroticism," said Stefan Wiest, the 32-year-old photographer who took the titillating pictures.

Anne Rohmer, 21, poses on a doorstep in garters and stockings as the prostitute Rahab, who is mentioned in both New and Old Testaments. "We wanted to represent the Bible in a different way and to interest young people," she told Reuters.

"Anyway, it doesn't say anywhere in the Bible that you are forbidden to show yourself nude."

Bernd Grasser, pastor of the church in Nuremberg where the calendar is being sold, was enthusiastic about the project which is explained online at www.bibelkalender.de . [The page seems to be currently not available either here or in Google cache. Too bad. We could have gotten a more complete explanation, probably via Bablefish.]

"It's just wonderful when teenagers commit themselves with their hair and their skin to the bible," he said. [My ellipses and emphasis]

These poor misguided folks even manage to insult the highly civilized and reasonably decent people of Philistia.

Actually it was not Delilah who cut Sampson's hair.

Judges 16:19 KJV And she made him sleep upon her knees; and she called for a man, and she caused him to shave off the seven locks of his head; and she began to afflict him, and his strength went from him.

Among the civilized and moral people of Philistia, women did not cut men's hair, even if they were "good friends".

It is too late to pray for the civilized and moral Philistines.

But not too late to pray for these poor misguided fools in Nuremberg, who, after all, are a part of baptized humanity.
