In the afterglow of last fall's presidential election, there is hope in Kabul.Violence in the capital is now rare. Record numbers of children, including girls, are returning to rebuilt schools. U.S. trainers are forging a multiethnic Afghan army. Aid money is flowing in, and relief groups are helping put the health service and other institutions back on their feet.
Millions of refugees have returned after long years of exile in Pakistan or Iran (news - web sites). Some are confident enough of the country's stability to sink their savings into roomy new villas, fueling a breakneck construction boom.
Still lots of problems according to the story, but the lead is that “there is hope in Kabul”.
Praise the Lord!
