Tinkie Winkie Marches On

{{_ 2/99: REVEREND JERRY FALWELL published an article in his "National Liberty Journal" with an ardent warning to parents against allowing their children to watch the extremely popular public television show "Teletubbies" because Falwell says, "one character, named Tinkie Winkie" is an "obvious portrayal of a Gay male."
{{_ This is a harmless pre-schooler TV programme. My own son watched it when he was 3 or 4. Why do these pseudo christian satanic morons seek to poison young innocent minds with their own poisonous bigotry. That in itself is a far bigger sin than some unfortunates being born gay.
{{_ It is offensive to decent thinking folk of ALL religions.}}

[[Forum link omitted to protect the perpetrator.]]

Gays who watched Tinkie Winkie seem to have universally rejoiced in their incorporation into the children's cartoon mainstream.

And the originators of the feature agreed that such incorporation was their purpose.

The triangle on the head as oposed to male and female biological symbols for the obviously heterosexual characters, and Tinkie's red handbag were designed to identify Tinkie as a homosexual, and Tinkie was designed to promote the carte blanche acceptance of homosexuality.

Do the opinions of prominent gays and of animation professionals who happen to agree with Dr. Falwell in this matter, make them "pseudo Christian satanic morons"?

We must be careful not to accept the characterization of Christian leaders by the ignorance of the mainstream media and by the ignorance of the common culture that the media have influenced so massively.
